My last vacation

On vacations I went to Lima, Perú, with three friends of mine. One of those friends (Ricardo) is from there originally, so we stayed at his house for two weeks. The house was empty, because Ricardo's family went to London for the whole month (February). So we had the house entirely for ourselves (and the garden, and the square shaped swimming poll, and the wonderful terrace with a splendid plum tree). There was a dog, though, which we had to take care of, and that dog would end up disappearing. That's what I'm going to talk about, not the regular tourist circuit (Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, san Francisco's church...), nor our destinations by night, except in what they were related to it (to that vanishment).

The dog's incident started the day we went to Miraflores. In Miraflores there is a restaurant, 'La Rosa Naútica', and that restaurant has an owner: Miguel R., Ricardo's uncle (on mom's side). He came to pick us up at 12 pm., the fith day since our arrival, and took us to have lunch at the 'Rosa'. After that, we went to see a tennis match, a very poor one, between two local players (it was 6/3, 6/3, I think, or maybe 6/2, 6/2). Therefrom, and this is the important part, we came back to the house by 7 pm and the dog wasn´t there. Instead of it, instead of 'blanca', 'blanquita', 'perrita linda', we found a dark, wool-like haired cat. One of my companion told me, the day we were traveling back, that that's the way he felt about that trip: he expected a "beautiful white dog" and found himself with "a cat's poor anatomical proportions". I thought that was a rather lame comment, I had a real good time -but at least that's a way to see it.
